FAMILY HISTORY DOCUMENTS (for sale)

108 - Sarah Brealey sewed her exquisite Sampler in 1822, at the age of 10. It is symmetrically planned and beautifully embroidered in miniscule cross stitch using fine, coloured threads, and showing considerable skill in the perfect positioning of the trailing border. The motifs (which include birds, butterflies, flowers, trees and a cute little bunny) have been very carefully placed around the verse. The contemporary (probably original) gilt frame complements the colours of this Sampler.   Sarah was possibly the daughter of Sarah & Thomas  Brealey of Newhall, Stapenhill, Derby - baptised on 8^th December 1811. £ 425

221/2 Derby - 1726 - Exchange of Lands in Whitecross Field between Exuperius Turner and Samuel Ward. His mother Elizabeth Ward, widow was party to agreement. The document relates to a Messuage & Farm at Thorpe, previously occupied by Christopher Brittlebanke and names the various closes of land included. Attorneys appointed - George & Adam Knyveton of Castleton.
