from Benj. H Lynes (Liskeard). The address panel has been cut out, so the
addressee is not known. The letter refers to land sold to Mr Couche, a visit by
Lynes to Mr Rawle & his family at Plymouth, to Mrs Rawle & her family
here (Liskeard), and to 3 children Francis, Anne & Harriett, and sends
compliments to Mr & Mrs Wm Ward.

Pages 2 & 3 confirm that M S conditions were fulfilled & bond discharged, includes some details of M S & Robert's Will, dates of his death & marriage of John & Gwen. The plan is noted in pencil with the names of subsequent purchasers of the various properties (including Stevenson, Bettenson, Anson, Hill, Short). A. It appears to relate to the Ashburton / Buckfast area and
includes dates & many names (including Wm Amery) for receipts & sales, &
payments including wages, bills, goods, chapel subscriptions, insurances (incl
property 'Haytree' - house, barns, stables, sheds), etc. Also includes some
observations / remarks.
130+ pages with 'Besleys New Western Almanach' for 1840 incl weather
predictions, fairs & markets & members & officers for Devon / Cornwall /
Somerset / Dorset. A receipt / account relating to the estate of Peter
Fabyan Sparke is held in a pocket at the back of the book - perhaps J S A was
